Ruby on Rails / Web Application Developer
RingMaster Software is currently seeking a self-driven, seasoned Web Developer with good communication habits to continue development of our internal Ruby on Rails applications in addition to our company website and marketing materials. The person in this position will have substantial real-world experience in developing highly dynamic, user-friendly content-driven web applications, as well as standards compliant static pages.
The ideal candidate will have Ruby on Rails experience and the ability to:
- Work with our in-house Graphic Designer and clients to develop an effective website design solution that is deliverable within time and budget requirements
- Successfully multi-task in a group-oriented environment while being self-driven with the ability to work independently
- Expert understanding of HTML and CSS, including HTML5 and CSS3 (standards compliant coding is a must!)
- Demonstrates ability to write well structured, well documented Ruby code
- Comfortable working with centralized or distributed source control systems
- Capable of balancing coding responsibilities with documentation / testing duties
- Thorough understanding of user experience design and ability to design visually
- Familiarity with browser capabilities, user interface requirements, cross-platforming, web analytics software, site architecture, and web server hardware are important to this position.
Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
Exceptional skills in Ruby on Rails, PHP, AJAX, HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript as well as PostgreSQL and MySQL syntax.
Must be comfortable working in Red Hat Linux (specifically, Fedora) - Both GUI and CLI
Experience with SSH, SCP, FTP and SVN
