A History Of Meeting Customers’ Needs

Susan Dorn CEO, RingMaster Software

Our founder and CEO, Susan Dorn, started us on this path as one of Oracle’s consultants in 1989. In 1992 she went on to become an independent consultant focusing on Oracle Applications, (now called Oracle E–Business Suite). In 1995, the practice expanded and specialized in all facets of Oracle E–Business Suite —project management, database administration, application design and development, functional consulting and implementation. The company at that time was known as Cinap.

Knowing firsthand what an IT department needs to be productive and produce results, our consultants built its first product in 1998, RingMaster APM. This was the industry’s first Oracle E–Business patch automation product. Taking a viewpoint from the entire IT department, we developed a system–of–record for patching that automated patch application with the controls and accessible information needed by the entire IT department.

RingMaster APM proved to be successful immediately. Over the next year, we improved the product, added new features, learned how to sell software and continued to test the market. In late 1999, we decided that we would no longer be a consultancy, we had proven that our first product had a lot of promise, and we declared ourselves a software company. We then changed our name to RingMaster Software Corporation.

RingMaster Software continues to develop best–of–breed solutions that bring transparency, productivity, information, collaboration and management of the three–ring circus of application maintenance of Oracle® E–Business Suite.
